Do you like organising events and meet amazing people, and would like to get engaged in Lunds very own extreme sport student association? Or do you know someone who do? Then this is the opportunity for you to nominate yourself or a friend to the LESS board 2020! This is also the time for all members to get the opportunity to vote for who you want to have in the board, and to come together to summarize the LESS-year of 2019

How does the LESS Board look like?

Board member:

The board consists of seven board members and a president. The board’s main task is to plan and organize fun events and keep in contact and inspire our amazing members! Other tasks include managing and participate in board meetings, admitting new members, manage social media etc. As a member of the board you are also involved in representing LESS for Studentlund.

President:

The president has the ultimate responsibility for the association. Furthermore, the president’s job is to coordinate the activities of the board as such as the organisation runs smoothly, but also to participate in the tasks that the rest of the board members do.

Treasurer:

This person has the responsibility for the society’s economy and are otherwise a member of the board as the other board members. 

Election committee:

The election committee is not a part of the board as they are responsible to fill the vacant positions at the annual meeting – their job is to find new board members and nominate candidates they find suitable.

Accountant: 

This person is not a part of the board but have a key role in checking the economy and that everything looks correct in the boards yearly economic presentation

Do you think a new post or any other new changes is needed?

If you do – submit a motion to the board at info@lundsextremsport.se no later than the 20th of November.

What happens after the nomination?

After the nomination deadline has passed, each nominee will receive a question asking if they want to accept the nomination and then a list of questions from the election committee. Then the list of candidates will be summarised and explained by the election committee. Finally, this will be presented at the meeting on the 4th of December.The election will be held at the annual meeting on the 4th of December in AF-borgens Edilkammare. The meeting is open for everyone, but you need to be a member of LESS to be able to vote.

LESS board 2019

Propositions from the board:

Surf and kitesurf adventures at Hvide Sande Denmark

LESS went to the so called cold Hawaii, or more exactly the west cost of Denmark in Hvide Sande.

After 4 hour of driving through the Danish countryside we checked in at our huge villa close to Hvide Sande. With 20 beds and 4 kitchens this was more than enough for us and we could be more happy with our stay there.

The following day started with one group going to the local kite center for kitesurfing lessons. The other groups went for surfing and kitesurfing in the wild open sea and also in the nearby lagoon.

After a whole day of activities the best way to end it is with a hamburger barbecue!

Last day the kitesurfing students did their final lessons and tried to get up on the kiteboards. The other group finished off with a massive downwinder.

During October we’ve kept busy. We’ve had yoga, climbing, freediving and underwater rugby on the scheduele and it’s been heeps of fun.

We had a yoga session together with Raja Yoga Lund last thursday and it was really fun. After an introduction to the eight Yamas of yoga and a deeper reflection of how to use yoga practices in our daily lives we pursued some dynamic yoga for about an hour. It was really nice, relaxed and I think everyone had some fun being in for some strange positions. Definetely something LESS would do again and definetely something that everyone could incorporate into their daily lives and other ‘extreme’ sports.

On Sunday the 21st of October we rented the climbing hall in Lund for an exclusive LESS Session and it was tons of fun. Some got to try it for the first time and others got to share the amazing sport.

And as well as yoga and climbing, we revisited the AquaLund UV rugby and freediving group’s monday session to try some underwater extreme sport. As last time it was a really good time.

 

For the rest of the semester we have tons of action planned, amongst one of the events will be a visit to Jump Malmö on the 14th of November – look to our fb for more info on that event.

Hello dear members,

A few weeks ago we had such a lovely day out in Helsingborg. We went to the wakeboard park and many brave souls jumped into the cold water. Some were pros from the moment the started and some had to struggle a bit more, but the truly fantastic thing was that everyone managed to stand up and ride! We played around the area with slacklines, skateboards and redbull and it was a really really nice day.

Hello!

So nice that you’ve found your way to the amazing new LESS webpage. We in the board are so excited to have the opportunity for another term to spread some extreme joy around Lund.

These last few weeks we’ve spent planning the upcoming semester and oh dear do we have a lot of ideas. September is going to kick off with Stadsparkshäng, wakeboard, movienight and LESS Weekend 2.0. Amazing!

Last friday we had the opportunity to meet a bunch of new members at the Hälsningsgille at AF borgen, it was really nice and we hope to see more of everyone!
